For almost two decades, the Ubuntu Fund has been engaging in charitable initiatives. Over the years, they have been using their manpower and resources to help many needy children. Their operations are largely in Africa. The Fund opened its school campus in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, with the objective of providing disadvantaged children with quality education. However, the management of the institution recognized that most students could not attend the school. After conducting a research, they realized that hunger and HIV were preventing most of these children from attending school and concentrating on their studies. It is here that they endeavored to expand their services to include provision of healthcare, home stability and nutrition.
Notably, the school has a noble program. Through this program, needy children are supported right from when they enroll in the institution until when they will begin their careers. Over the years, they have helped more than 400,000 disadvantaged children. For purposes of enhancing their operations, the management of the organization saw the need to increase their working capital. To this end, they organized for a gala dinner. The invitation-only event was attended by 300 guests. Andrew Rolfe was mandated with the duty of ensuring that the guests are provided with meals and entertainment. A Xhosa choir presented different songs that left the guests excited. At the end of the event, they had managed to raise more than their set target of $972, 960.
The Ubuntu Fund shall use this amount to expand their school infrastructure in South Africa. In addition, some amount shall go towards enhancing the pediatric clinic for purposes of providing the children with quality healthcare services. This way, the Ubuntu Fund will be able to enroll more needy children in the society.
